Ketamine is most commonly used as an anaesthetic in
veterinary and paediatric medicine. Used recreationally it
produces dose related effects ranging from closed eye
hallucinations (where patterns and 'visuals' appear when the
eyes are closed or in low lighting situations) to full
dissociative anaesthesia (the shutting down of the senses)
referred to as 'going through the K-Hole'.
