Exact cause of death still a mystery - Thunders was a long time Heroin user and was allegedly given LSD and murdered for his Methadone.

Clomethiazole overdose - a sedative he was being prescribed to help with withdrawal from alcohol. Oddly he died in the same room in the same flat (Flat 12, 9 Curzon Place, Mayfair) that Cass Elliot had died in 4 years earlier.
