Born in Wales in
1945 Howard Marks attended the Garw Grammar School and was
further educated at both Oxford and Sussex Universities. He
became famous following his release from an American
penitentiary after being convicted, and serving seven years, for
international drug-smuggling offenses. He is known to have
connections with MI6, the IRA, and the Mafia. He has since
written three books, stood for election to UK Parliament,
appeared on TV and film, and currently tours the UK with his
live show 'An Audience with Howard Marks'.
